Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club and the Australian Wētā Class Association (AWCA) invite you to the 2025-26 Australian Wētā Nationals.

GLYC is situated in the heart of Paynesville on the shores of Lake Victoria, part of the Gippsland Lakes. The Lakes is the largest navigable inland waterway in Australia and has a reputation for fantastic flat-water sailing. Just 3.5 hours from Melbourne on the south-east coast of Victoria, separated from Bass Strait by the 90 Mile Beach land barrier it enjoys steady prevailing winds of 10-14kn SSE in January.

Sailing program will include a one-off trophy race on New Years Eve - the Koala Cup! The Koala Cup will be a passage race scored separately to the Nationals Regatta with prize-giving as part of our NYE celebrations.

The formal 2025-26 Australian Wētā Nationals will run from 29/12/25 to 03/01/26.

If you have plans to be in Paynesville on Sunday 04/01/26, an informal 2up social sail is being considered with Nick Rutter's 35' tri Saracen as a support boat. It's a chance for family and friends to share your love of sailing on the Lakes. Check the box on registration if you are interested!
